Job Summary
The sales account representative works cooperatively with the sales manager and other outside sales representatives to grow existing customer accounts, create new accounts, perform administrative tasks to support the sales department and increase customer satisfaction.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Process and route customer transactions such as orders, quotes or returns, assuring accuracy in processing and in print revision levels, order details, and customer information.
- Respond to customer requests for information regarding availability of in-stock items, pricing sheets and order status.
- Conduct administration tasks to support the quoting process – set-up and maintain customer files for quotes, follow-up quotes to learn how CEM did on the quote and document findings.
- Assist in scheduled physical inventory counts.
- Meet sales goals by cold calling potential new customers and maintaining regular communication with existing customers to encourage increased and repeat ordering.
- Keep abreast and communicate with customers regarding order shipping status – gather information from vendors regarding shipment and expected delivery dates, follow-up with customers and expedite as needed.
- Development and maintaining knowledge of the company’s products and services.
- Handling customer complaints and resolving their issues in timely and professional manner.
- Perform other tasks as warranted or assigned by management.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment
The employee is subject to inside environmental conditions with protection from weather conditions. The employee is regularly exposed to repetitive motion presented by navigating a computer and typing.
Physical Requirements
The employee is required to have visual acuity to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus. The employee will be occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with their arms. This position requires regular sitting, hand and finger dexterity, wrist rotation or extension, and grasping. The position may rarely require squatting/kneeling, forward bending, twisting/turning, pushing/pulling, neck rotation or extension, forearm rotation and pinching. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 30lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong skills in detail orientation, accuracy and records management.
- Ability to communicate with both internal and external customers characterized by honest, professional, respectful communication (verbally & in writing) and effective listening skills.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Self-starter with strong ambition and ability to work well with others.
- Strong skills in organization and time management.
- Fluency in English verbal and written communication.
- High level of dependability.
Desirable Qualifications
- Two or more years of applicable post-secondary education.
- Computer skills in ERP and CRM software.
- Previous sales experience, especially in the manufacturing industry.
- Ability to read part prints or drawings and machining work orders.
